Church Notes For Aug. 5

What a great week we have had in Shake it Up VBS where we have discovered God’s Recipe for Life! We invite you to join us for an incredibly special program, Friday, August 5 at 7:00 p.m. Shake it Up is sponsored by the Pratt Presbyterian, First Christian, and First United Methodist Churches!

 

 

 

 

First United Methodist Church, located at the intersection of Highways #54 and #281 in Pratt, Kansas. We encourage you to check out our worship services and other special activities during the week of Friday, August 5- Saturday, August 13, 2011. Sunday, August 7 is the eighth Sunday after Pentecost. The Early, Informal Worship Service begins at 8:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday School classes meet from 9:05-9:55 a.m. except for the 50/50 & Kum Double Class that meets from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The Contemporary Worship Service begins at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary with the Praise Band/Worship Team leading worship. Jeanette Garretson will be our Liturgist in the Traditional Service. The Traditional Worship Service starts at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Jane Biles will be playing God of Wonders (Byrd /Hindalong) for the offertory in the early and traditional services. Abby Black will be sharing a solo, Blessings (Laura Story) in the Traditional Service. The Scriptures for today’s message are James 1:22-25 and Luke 6: 46-49. Pastor Dan, will be preaching the sermon “Build on Rock” in his series entitled “You the Man!” Sunday, August 7 is our noon Fellowship Dinner following the Traditional Service. Everyone is welcome!

 

 

 

Our Monday activities include the Quilters who meet in the basement & Monday Morning Moms who meet in the parlor at 9:30 a.m. The Faithfully Fit Forever Exercise team meets regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:00 am during the summer. The Ladies Bible Study group meets at 7 am on Wednesdays. Wednesday, August 17 is our next Girl’s Night Out Craft Party at 5:30 p.m. Come and go as you can. Also, the Outreach Committee will meet on that same night at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room.

 

 

 

Looking ahead, Saturday, August 13th the Relay Survivor Brunch will be at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This is open for all cancer survivors! The Pratt County Relay for Life will begin at 7 pm, Friday, August 19 at Zerger Field. We’d love to have you join us! Come and join us raise funds to bring hope and wipe out cancer!!
