History - Fund Raising

"WE APPRECIATE" every member of our congregation who contributes to the maintenance of our church structure.

Various forms of "raising funds" for our buildings have been used in the past. One method followed that of King Joash as described in 2 Kings 12:4-16. Our congregation was divided into twelve tribes, and the leader assigned the responsibility of perfect attendance of this tribe on Joash Sunday. On that day a great costumed pageant was performed, bringing the chest to the altar by the tribal leaders and every member placing their donations into the chest of funds for building repairs.
